Synopsis |
Superman has been trying to track Arion, with the help of Zatanna and the Phantom Stranger. Arion keeps creating minor disasters as a warning, which Superman stops. All that does, though, is strengthen the world's resolve, and they support Superman. Lexcorp develops the Scancams, and have them follow Superman to help keep the world informed. Subjekt-17 tracks down Superman, and makes him choose between helping Subjekt-17, or standing for his torturers. Superman wants to do both, but Subjekt-17 treats that as a rejection of him, and attacks. Superman defeats him, and Subjekt-17 reveals where Arion is (in old Atlantis under the Atlantic Ocean), but he teleports away. Superman goes to Arion, but instead of attacking directly as Arion had figured (and prepared for), he causes a whirlpool, and lets the full weight of the ocean crush the city. |

Notes |
Story continued from issue #664 and continues in Superman Annual (DC, 1987 series) #13 (January 2008). In promotional materials, this is called part 1 of the 2-part finale of "Camelot Falls". On the DC Message Boards on 2007-10-02 and the next day, Kurt talks about the art, saying that Merino is sharing the pencils with Pacheco, and "doing quite a bit more than layouts, but not full pencils." |
