Characters | Kara Kyle [Black Mistress]; Mrs. Van Sloan (death); Black Mistress; John Talbot |
Synopsis | Kara Kyle is on the deck of a luxury liner when she sees someone thrown over the side. She changes into Black Mistress and dives over to try to save them. She thinks that she sees the woman alive and talking under the water (although she assumes that it is probably from "rapture of the depths"). The lady draws a picture of the one who threw her overboard. Black Mistress then takes her back to the ship where she is declared dead. She asks to see everyone on board and identifies the killer. She could not have testified against him because she did not see the face of the killer but he draws a gun and foolishly admits to the killing. Black Mistress kicks the gun away and he is arrested. She thinks that she will never get over the sight of Mrs. Van Sloan naming her killer after she was dead. |
