Characters | Green Hornet IV [Paul Reid]; Kato II[Hayashi Kato]; Crimson Wasp [Mishi Kato] (Intro new costumed I.D.; last appearance in Green Hornet, 1989 series {Vol. 1}, #10, August 1990); Johnny Dollar (V; Intro); D.A. Diana Reid; Police Commissioner Carter Hamilton (Intro) |
Synopsis | The Green Hornet and Kato bust the Gilder brothers and a set of clients in a money laundering operation, and are unexpectedly helped by a female martial artist in a samurai-style costume calling herself the Crimson Wasp, who has no compunctions about using her swords to kill. The sounds of approaching police cause the three to depart as they came. However, the police prove to be phony, led by a mysterious, green-masked figure, Johnny Dollar, and they kill all the criminals and depart with the cash. By the time Paul and Hayashi--who has recognized the Wasp as his sister Mishi but keeps this to himself--get home, not only does Diana know what really happened, but the police commissioner is on television blaming the Hornet for the murders. Dollar is annoyed at this turn of events, as he had wanted the crime bosses of the city to fear HIM. He meets with racketeer Don Phillipe Augustino, whose people were the Gilders' customers, and offers to sell him back his own money, for a smaller cut than the Gilders were charging to "clean" it. In return, the don agrees to deal exclusively with Dollar, and to kill the Hornet. A tip about the firearms used to kill the crooks leads the Hornet into a police trap! To be continued.... |
