Synopsis | Dr. Dutro and a flamingo-esque alien, Suboko, are brought blindfolded to Challenger Mountain. Dr. Dutro is a geophysicist. Suboko is a space police officer. Suboko warns an invasion force has placed four infernal devices at the highest, lowest, hottest, and coldest points on Earth. The devices will trigger earthquakes, floods, etc. to soften Earth up for invasion. Splitting up, the Challengers fan out around the world - to Mount Everest, the Marianas Trench, the Sahara, and the South Pole - and try to destroy the devices. They’re unbreakable, but the Challengers drag or shove the devices away from the target points. Satisfied, they return to Challenger Mountain, only to learn that “Dr. Dutro” was a fake. The real scientist is in a hospital. Turns out Suboko works for the invasion force while another criminal posed as Dutro! The four devices actually PROTECT the Earth with a force field to keep the invaders out! Hurrying, the Challengers restore the first three devices to their original spots. The Saharan device had big magnifying lenses the Challengers blew out. Still, they can hook the device to a power plant and it should work. But they’re attacked by aliens on camels with ray guns! Thinking fast, they use the device to drive the aliens back - until the Space Police arrive and haul the villains away. |

Characters | Red Ryan; Prof Haley; Ace Morgan; Rocky Davis; Marintels (fish-men); Lavanites (lava-men) |
Synopsis | Prof and Rocky scuba-dive to investigate disturbances at an abandoned oil drilling field underwater. They’re captured by fish-men, the Martinels, who seek to protect them from evil lava-men, the Lavanites. The lava-men have been pumping lava to seal fish-men caves to dry them out. Meanwhile, Ace and Red dive to find their buddies and are captured by lava-men. The lava-men contend the fish-men flood their caves to kill them. Ace and Red find the oil pipes have been redirected to pump seawater. They fight off an attack by a giant seahorse and go to work on the pipes. Soon lava pours into fish-men caves. Prof and Rocky plan to retaliate. Both teams - unknowingly endangering each other - plant explosives to fracture a volcano. The charge goes off, and both teams are rocked - but bump into each other in the haze. Talking, they see their cross-purposes. They insist that, since both lava- and fish-races can wipe each other out, they better quit fighting. Rocky adds, “Or we’ll be back to thrash both of you!” The two races make peace and the Challengers head for home, agreeing, “Let’s stay on the same team from now on!” |
