Characters Superman; The Ray [flashback cameo]; Mr. Terrific [Michael Holt, flashback cameo]; Doctor Light [Kimiyo Hoshi, flashback cameo]; Lois Lane; Jimmy Olsen; Councilman Jeffries; Perry White; Kryptonite Man; Lex Luthor; Toyman; Neutron; Radion
Synopsis Clark recalls how the heroes tried to restore his powers at S.T.A.R. Labs. Later, he and Jimmy track down a bribe occurring from Intergang to Councilman Jeffries, transmitting the pictures back to the Daily Planet (except Clark keeps losing his connection). Back at the Planet, as Lois and Clark are talking, Clark's computer crashes, just as Perry White is walking by. But Perry complements Clark on his work. Luthor and Toyman are using the Kryptonite Man to focus a Kryptonite cannon, down to the center of the Earth. Lois and Clark attend a monster truck rally, but Lois senses that Clark's heart is not in it, and lets him leave. Clark is attacked by Neutron and Radion for his Intergang exposes. He tries to call Supergirl on his signal watch, but it doesn't work. Luthor's K-cannon contacts something at the center of the Earth via the sunstone crystal, and it responds and moves upward. Neutron blasts Clark, but it doesn't seem to hurt him. He runs into a subway tunnel, but is knocked down on the tracks and can't get up. A train comes and hits him. Neutron and Radion think they've killed him, but he survives, and finds that he has left a handprint on the front of the train, as his powers have at least partially returned.
