Synopsis | When the children are asked to write about the one thing they want for Christmas, Sue Stringly writes that all she wants is a light on the old water tower. She explains to Veronica that ducks keep flying into the water tower and getting hurt, and that she's been tending to the injuries of the fallen ducks. When another duck goes down while Ronnie is visiting, Sue gets angry, and the two girls climb to the top of the tower with a flashlight, which Sue uses to warn the ducks. But when Ronnie tries to get down, the ladder breaks, and when Sue pulls her to safety, the flashlight falls to the ground, leaving them stranded on top of the tower without a way to alert anyone. |
