Synopsis | After nearly destroying Professor Finster's lab, Shaggy takes a job working for Jerry Sloane, creator of the Blue Scarab Comic books. Later that evening, Sloane finds himself face-to-face with the Blue Scarab himself, who threatens Sloane and gives him a powerful electric shock. The next morning, Sloane is recuperating -- but still working on his comic book pages. Shaggy, Scooby and the gang take the finished pages to the editor's office, where another writer, Harry, disparages Sloane's work to the editor. Later, Sloane is still working in bed. The Blue Scarab appears and threatens Sloane again. Shaggy, Scooby and Murray come running, but the Scarab escapes out the window -- ten stories up -- before they arrive. Scooby finds a stick pin and Shaggy realizes the Scarab dropped it. The Scarab tries to get the pin back from Shaggy and Scooby, but Fred arrives in time to throw a bucket of water on the Scarab, short-circuiting his electric shock device. |

Synopsis | The gang are having a picnic barbecue. While Fred and Shaggy are gathering wood, Scooby finds a cave and falls in a hole, where an archaeologist named Brad is searching for the Anthro-stone. Scooby, digging to see what he hit his head on, digs up the very artifact Brad was seeking. Brad, with the gang in tow, takes the tablet to Leo Mandrell, who he hopes will translate the stone. Mr. Shuster, a competitor, arrives and offers Brad three thousand dollars for the stone, who refuses. The next morning, the gang arrives at Mandrell's office, only to find it locked. Fred breaks down the door; Mandrell has apparently been turned into a chimpanzee and the Gorilla Spirit threatens Shaggy -- by name -- and grabs the Anthro-stone. He vanishes in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke clears, Mandrell is back, but the giant talking ape is gone. Brad, Mandrell, and the gang go to question Shuster, who indignantly asks Mandrell who these young accusers are. Fred realizes Shuster never knew their names, but the Gorilla Spirit referred to Shaggy by name. Suspicion falls to Mandrell, who attempts to escape out a tenth-story window, but inadvertently climbs in the window of a detective agency. |
