Synopsis When Bucky is shot by a criminal named Lavender, Cap decides he works better with a partner and reveals his secret identity to Betsy Ross. He trains her to substitute for Bucky while he is recovering and she takes the identity Golden Girl. Their first meeting with Lavender Betsy warns Cap that she has a knife and, after Lavender escapes, Cap berates her for doing so. He tells her that he knew she had a knife and could have protected himself with his shield. Betsy is disconsolate about letting Cap down and wants to make it up to him. She gets a lead about Lavender's whereabouts and visits Steve at his apartment in her costume. When Cap and Golden Girl encounter Lavender the second time, they apprehend her and Cap gives Golden Girl a kiss. Bucky vows to heal quickly so Golden Girl won't take his place and Cap compliments both of his partners.
