As time passed, Doug visited Penny, but never felt himself worthy of such a beauty until Penny told him that she loved him. But when they started dating Doug let Penny have her fun, even when she felt he should be more forceful. One night, her frustration boiled over and she broke up with Doug. Later that week, Wally took Penny out and bad-mouthed Doug, who was standing behind him at the time. A quick punch to the stomach dropped Wally to the floor. Later, when Bill returned to school, she felt that he was actually avoiding her. When she confronted him, he admitted that he had changed and she took that as rejection, and she told him it was over. After their break-up, Fran decided to have some fun with "love 'em and leave 'em" Walt Bennett. When Walt got fresh on a date, Fran screamed and it was Bill who was there to her rescue. He punched Walt... then fainted. Gasping, he told Fran that he had contracted Malaria. Rushing him to the hospital, ol' Doc Hodges told Bill that there was a new drug that had proven successful. Once taking new drug, Bill and Fran finished the school year and happily looked forward to beginning their life... together. |
