Synopsis | Undercover Nazi agents are handed a golden opportunity when the US military comes up with a plan to demonstrate the possibility of a Nazi air raid on New York city. The brass wants the planes to only use dummy shells, but the Nazi agents substitute live ammo for them. They capture Torch and Toro long enough for them to prevent the heroes from interrupting their plans. Torch tries to phone in a warning to call off the air raid, but the simulated attackers have cut off communications. Torch gets a last ditch idea to put off a disaster and he and Toro skywrite in huge letters in the black-out sky "Don't Attack! You Have Real Explosives!" Torch prays that they believe him and an aircraft commander tells his Gunnery Sgt. to target a buoy. When it is destroyed, he calls off the raid. The mayor of New York thanks Torch and Toro. |
