Synopsis | Recovered from being poisoned, King Conan goes after Baron Aemilius, believing the Baron is responsible for Prince Conn's death. The Baron requests a trial by Ordeal (water) and starts to drown, but King Conan pulls him from the water in order to interrogate him. Lysander, one of Prince Conn's guards survived the ambush and regains consciousness. Prince Taurus starts to dabble in dark magic and is swept away from the castle by a giant flaming bird. |

Synopsis | Prince Conn wins a tavern fight in Numalia, Nemedia's second greatest city, and meets the thief, Ruffius. Ruffius enlists Conn's help in gaining entrance to a rich merchant's tower in order to steal some valuables. The merchant is an elderly philanthropist who actually shares his wealth with the poor. The merchant catches Ruffius and Conn in his tower, and Ruffius kills the old man and leaves Conn there to take the blame. |
