Characters All-Star Squadron [Green Lantern [Alan Scott]; Amazing-Man; Firebrand [Danette Reilly]; Dr. Fate [Kent Nelson] (half-helmet version); Commander Steel [Henry Heywood]; Johnny Quick [Johnny Chambers]; Liberty Belle]; JSA [Hawkman [Carter Hall]; Johnny Thunder(Earth-2); Thunderbolt; Atom [Al Pratt]; Sandman [Wes Dodds]; Starman [Ted Knight]; Dr. Mid-Nite [Charles McNider]; Wonder Woman (Earth-2); Spectre [Jim Corrigan]]; Freedom Fighters [Uncle Sam; Plastic Man; Blackhawks; Human Bomb; Phantom Lady; Firebrand [Rod Reilly]; Black Condor; Doll Man]; Harbinger; Adolf Hitler (cameo); Dr. Gootsden (villains)
Synopsis The Crisis begins to hit Earth-2 as Harbinger recruits Firebrand (paralleling a sequence from Crisis on Infinite Earths (DC, 1985 series) #1). The JSA is shanghaied into space by Gootsden's rockets, but Harbinger's efforts to return to the Monitor's satellite sends them all off course to different dimensional versions of Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Mars. The Freedom Fighters go to Earth-X as Uncle Sam tells them he needs them there to win the War on that world, lest all be lost (and it's a one-way ticket). While battling Nazi scientists, Commander Steel is accidentally sent to Earth-1, where he builds a new life for himself.
