Synopsis |
A number of worshipers who hope for a great catastrophe to cleanse and restart the universe sacrifice themselves for Darkseid, who sits immobile surrounded by dark versions of familiar heroic figures. But when Darkseid fails to stir, the servants of Darkseid declare that the New God needs more sacrifices. Elsewhere, the Legion, accompanied by Superboy, investigate another stargate and encounter three dark figures who eventually flee in a Boom Tube. Back on Legion World, Livewire tries to come to grips with his new situation, while the leaders of the Legion try to assess the encounter at the stargate, and Ferro helps Superboy get a new outfit. Meanwhile, Invisible Kid and Brainiac 5 visit the Time Institute to try and determine the exact point in time from which Superboy was plucked, but they are interrupted by two more dark figures arriving through a Boom Tube. |

Notes |
Though by the end of the storyline the identities of Clark Kent, Firestorm, Lobo, Orion, and Big Barda are confirmed, it is never made clear just who the Green Lantern, the Thanagarian, or the other heroes the servants of Darkseid collect are. |
