Also noteworthy as containing the first mention of a character named "Donald Duck," this copy includes the very scarce dust jacket. Mickey wants to throw a party for his friends on the farm (including Carolyn Cow and Henry Horse, later known as Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar). Hardcover Edition. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. 32 pages. This is a very scarce first printing of the earliest Disney book (as opposed to magazines or comic book-type products). The first licensed Disney books and magazines came out in 1930, and the first Big Little Books featuring Mickey did not come out until 1933. This book features a great original story in which Mickey has to get Claws the Cat out of the way before a party can be held on the farm. Of course Mickey succeeds and throws a big party for all his friends (including Carolyn Cow and Henry Horse, later known as Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar). Cover price $0.10.
