Pioneering comics publisher David McKay's Feature Book was the first US comic book to devote complete issues to a single character. This issue (technically the third, but the first numbered) reprinted King of the Royal Mounted comic strips from 1936. Canadian Mountie Dave King was based on a character created by Western novelist Zane Grey.
