Alford in Action in Arkansas (1960) is full color, 16 page, 7-in. x 5-in. all newsprint comic book promoting Dale Alford's run for governor of Arkansas in 1960. Thomas Dale Alford was born on January 28, 1916 in New Hope, Arkansas. Alford was an ophthalmologist by trade and served in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1940 to 1946 during World War II. Returning to Arkansas he joined the teaching faculty at the University of Arkansas Medical School at Little Rock and remained there from 1948-1958.
