Cover by Bob Fujitani. Stories and art by Gil Kane, Bob Gordon, Sam Cooper, Bruce Elliott, Jerry Schiano, August Froehlich, and Henry Kiefer. Masked heroes, soldiers, and adventurers in this WWII-era anthology. Strange chance leads young Joe Djerk to become apprentice to the Sorcerer, in a story featuring nice magical art and tongue-in-cheek humor, such as a wizard mentioning Cthulu. Rangers Sarge and Angel face a desperate mission in the South Pacific, in an early story by future Marvel legend Gil Kane. In a story that deliberately breaks the fourth wall, Mortimer X. Mortimer gains the powers of other characters in his comic book (i.e. Bogey Man, The Sorcerer, etc.) to become spoof superhero Captain Milksop. Distinctive-looking Plutonian bad guy Satanas was listed in Jon Morris's 2017 book The League of Regrettable Supervillains. Bogey Man; First Aid; The Sorcerer and His Apprentice; Gag Parade; Sgt. Strong: Devil Dog Mission; Passing the Buck; Comedy Parade; Captain Milksop; Igloo Iggie; Satanas. 48 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
