During the 1940s, military hero Don Winslow was the star of a comic strip, a movie serial and a popular radio show in addition to this Fawcett comic. Don and Red investigate reports of a sea serpent while on loan to the Coast Guard. In a story from WWII, Don stumbles on an Axis plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge. As the cover advises, these issues feature "official war stories from Don Winslow's Log Book," as he, like other wartime heroes, had to explain the continued reliance on WWII stories after the war was over.
