    Stories by Roy Ald and Olivia Harris. Negro Romance is one of the first comics created by African-American artists, for an African-American readership. The series gained fame in modern times (as seen on PBS's History Detectives) as one of the few 1950s comics to portray Black characters in a non-stereotypical, realistic manner. Secretary Sylvia is torn between her bosses Don and Bill, romantically and professionally, and Don's free spending isn't helping - but is he on the up-and-up? Margie dislikes her new stepmother Sara, and it affects her burgeoning relationship with Dick, the handsome boarder in her family's rooming house. A fender-bender leads to love between Bart and Norma, but when she gets the lien on his farm, business dealings may sour their romance.
