Painted cover art by Norman Saunders. Stories and art by Clem Weisbecker and Robert Butts. A "Boys' Life"-style comic promoting hunting, fishing and other outdoors activities for 1950s boys. What makes it "a new kind of comic book" (as the cover says) is that the stories are interrupted periodically with tips on gun safety, proper fishing techniques, etc. In California, Bob learns of a new style of fishing - underwater spear fishing, which the story refers to as "goggle-fishing." Bob insists on going along when his father is hired to collect a Kodiak bear specimen for the Field Museum, but the bear isn't going without a fight. During the 1940s, military hero Don Winslow was the star of a comic strip, a movie serial and a popular radio show in addition to this Fawcett comic. In a three-part story, atomic testing has created an "electric ray-fish" of enormous size and electrical power. Don and Red are assigned to capture one, but enemy agents catch wind of it and set out after it themselves. An undersea battle in diving suits is the only possible result.
