An American inventor becomes the first human to land an object on the moon, by firing a giant space-gun at it. To his surprise, the people of the moon fire back. When he visits the satellite, he becomes caught up in the conflict between two warring peoples, one of which is ruled by a beautiful moon-princess. The story was written by Walter Gibson, best known as the author of The Shadows pulp adventures (under the name Maxwell Grant). Vol. 1 #3 - Winter 1951. Science Fantasy, which later became Impulse and then SF Impulse, was a UK published science-fiction and fantasy digest that began production in the Summer of 1950 and was distributed by Nova Publications as a companion to Nova's New Worlds. When Nova went out of business in early 1964, The title was changed to Impulse in early 1966, to little avail, and then changed once more to SF Impulse for the last few issues. Science Fantasy ceased publication the following year, after the printer went bankrupt. Stories by E.C. Tubb, John Wyndham, J.T. McIntosh.
