Dotty and husband Horace face domestic squabbles similar to those of Blondie and Dagwood, right down to the drawing style; the long-running family strip also featured tween daughter Taffy and dog Pepper. With this issue, the format switches to original short stories featuring the family, rather than reprints of strips, although many of the gags are recycled from the strip. Horace tries to wile his way out of housework, but Dotty catches him at every turn; Horace finds that son Wilbert is turning out too much like Horace himself; Boss Mr. Jerkimer gets to the point he can predict Horace's next disaster.
