These volumes are some of the earliest examples of Collected Comics. Companies, like Harvey, would archive their material by taking all the issues they released that month and having them bound into hardcover book format. The issues come complete with front and back covers and interiors. They were trimmed down perfectly to fit the hardcover format. Each year has twelve volumes, one for each month of the year. Stories and art by Warren Kremer and Helen Cason. A showcase anthology that launched many of Harvey's long-running titles. This issue features the dim but kind-hearted giant Stumbo. Stumbo tries to tiptoe past the library so he doesn't make any noise, but he's still the size of Godzilla. Hot Stuff the little devil designs a quiver to hold his pitchfork, but still manages to jab his uncle right in the diaper. Stumbo encounters a town whose residents insist on being lazy, no matter how hard he tries to motivate them. Harvey Kurtzmans legendary follow-up to the original MAD launched the careers of many future stars of comics, comedy and publishing, including associate editor Terry Gilliam. This issue features the first published Fritz the Cat strip by R. Crumb, as well as a Jay Lynch story, a Skip Williamson story, and an early Wonder Warthog story by Gilbert Shelton.
