    Phantom: The Sky Band (1972) 1972

    The Return of the Sky Band. Story by Lee Falk. Art and cover by Ray Moore. Pacific Comics Club reprints the comic-strip adventures of the seemingly immortal crime-fighter called The Phantom. Collects The Phantom Sunday pages from March 2, 1941 to Feb. 22, 1942. Sometimes listed as The Phantom: Il Ritorno Della Banda Aerea, the Italian title on the cover. First printed in Italy for comics art collectors, this does not feature Lee Falk's original text, but is translated back into English from Italian. Likewise, the Phantom's costume is red on the cover, which is how the character appears in Italy. The Phantom recognizes a series of daring air robberies as the work of his old foes, the all-female air pirates called the Sky Band. Disguised as a wartime government advisor, he traces the Band to their underground island hideout - but who is in the mysterious submarine? Treasury-sized 9-1/2-in. x 13-1/2-in., 56 pages, B&W.
