"This Way Lies Madness!" Part 2 of 2. Script by Steve Englehart. Pencils by Sal Buscema. Inks by John Verpoorten. Cover by Jim Starlin and Joe Sinnott. The Falcon, Sharon Carter, and the star-spangled avenger are prisoners of Doctor Faustus in his private sanitarium! It's because he has a special patient that no one knows about: Peggy Carter! Wow, Peggy was Cap's sweetheart in Paris during WWII (see Tales of Suspense #77). When Cap learns that Peggy is alive somewhere in Faustus' facility, the Living Legend goes for broke to find her! Can the Sentinel of Liberty reclaim a part of his past while fighting in the present? An uplifting story! Cameo appearances by Harrison Carter and Amanda Carter. (Notes: Doctor Faustus returns in Captain America 192. The letters page includes a letter from comics artist Duffy Vohland.) 32 pages. Cover price $0.20.

This issue consists of two sections and 40 pages, and features a Beautiful Balloons column by Don and Maggie Thompson; and a Now What column by Murray Bishoff. There is no cover date on this issue. The contradictory Covers That Almost Made It cover consists of four rejected covers drawn by four different artists: John Cody, Bob Conway, Mike Nicastre, and Dick Kulpa. It was the only time Nicastres work appeared on the cover of an issue of TBG, but the other three eventually cracked the solo cover barrier later on. Four years later, publisher Alan Light resurrected this feature idea in TBG 227 and 233. However, he relegated it to the inside. Summary of this issue by Russ Maheras.
