Story and art by Osamu Tezuka.

Filled with humor, action, drama, and humanity -- not to mention robots! -- Astro Boy will remind you why comics first grabbed your heart and imagination. In this volume, Astro remains stranded in the 20th century, but he's certainly not laying about! The classic and endearing adventures of Astro Boy will soon be captured on the big screen in a feature film by Sony Pictures! In early 2001, the animated adaptation of Mr. Tezuka's Metropolis hit movie theaters nation-wide, earning rave reviews and introducing mass film-going audiences to the exhiliarating appeal of this legendary creator's work.

1st printing. Collects Billi 99 (1991) #1-4. Created by SARAH BYAM and TIM SALE. Written by SARAH BYAM. Art by TIM SALE. World War III hit, and nobody noticed. Lost amidst the crooked politicians and corrupt corporate practices of the late 20th century, the American Dream became polluted and drowned out, replaced instead with an ever-growing chasm between the 'haves' and 'have-nots.' No one is more aware of this than Billi Chadam. Daughter of honest industrialist Ray Chadam and heiress to the multi-billion dollar Chadam International empire, Billi finds herself in a whirlpool of murder and corporate espionage, framed for her father's death, and on the run from those who are supposed to be her allies. But Billi has a secret, one she shared with her father before he was taken from her. By night Billi dons the mask of the Sword of Toleado, a blade-wielding vigilante bringing hope to the oppressed and striking fear in the oppressors. There's more to saving her city than sword-waving heroics can accomplish, though, and before the tensions between her company's employees and the city's on-the-take police force reach a boiling point, Billi must set the balance right, no matter what the cost. Blackwood Farm HC (2002 A Knopf Novel) The Vampire Chronicles 1-1ST

1st printing. By Anne Rice. In her new novel, perennial bestseller Anne Rice fuses her two uniquely seductive strains of narrative — her Vampire legend and her lore of the Mayfair witches — to give us a world of classic deep-south luxury and ancestral secrets. Welcome to Blackwood Farm: soaring white columns, spacious drawing rooms, bright, sun-drenched gardens, and a dark strip of the dense Sugar Devil Swamp. This is the world of Quinn Blackwood, a brilliant young man haunted since birth by a mysterious doppelgänger, Goblin, a spirit from a dream world that Quinn cant escape and that prevents him from belonging anywhere. When Quinn is made a Vampire, losing all that is rightfully his and gaining an unwanted immortality, his doppelgänger becomes even more vampiric and terrifying than Quinn himself. As the novel moves backwards and forwards in time, from Quinns boyhood on Blackwood Farm to present day New Orleans, from ancient Athens to 19th-century Naples, Quinn seeks out the legendary Vampire Lestat in the hope of freeing himself from the spectre that draws him inexorably back to Sugar Devil Swamp and the explosive secrets it holds. A story of youth and promise, of loss and the search for love, of secrets and destiny, Blackwood Farm is Anne Rice at her mesmerizing best. Hardcover, 544 pages, Text Only. Cover price $26.95.

1st Edition - 1st printing. Story and art by Eric Drooker. Introduction by Joe Sacco. An inspiring story told in pictures, of three generations unified by hope, promise, and a belief in creative expression. From American Book Award winner Eric Drooker, this is a story for the ages, beginning with the agrarian past, through the industrial present, and into the technological future. A young woman bravely escapes a military assault on her island village, journeying across the ocean to survive, unknowingly, in the Big City. There she meets and falls in love with a saxophone player, who makes heartfelt music. The police find and silence him, confiscating his sax and warning him not to make music again as it's strictly forbidden in the Big City. When the street musician continues to make music with his voice, the police soon find him and imprison him, making the future uncertain for the talented performer and the brave woman who loves him. Blood Song transcends the boundaries or conventional novels -- a wordless tale in the ancient language of pictures. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 312 pages, full color. Mature Readers Cover price $20.00.
