"My Love Will Ever Haunt Me," art by Rudy Palais; Stella tells her story to arguing couple Kay and Tim. She fell in love with Johnny, a boxer turned songwriter; When his music career falters, Johnny goes back to the ring. Stella isnt happy ("I thought I was marrying a songwriter not a prizefighter"), dates old friend Charlie, and sends Johnny a breakup letter on the night of his championship fight; Johnny loses badly and is injured; Stella marries Charlie but he is an abusive drunk.
