"Master of the Plant World!", script by Gardner Fox, pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Murphy Anderson; When a series of mysterious robberies occur which involve strange highly intelligent plants, Ray Palmer decides to investigate as the Atom when he learns about the strange circumstances from Jean Loring; As the Atom, Ray follows Jean as she goes on fact finding about the type of plants that are used, and decides to wait out in a greenhouse to keep a secret eye on Jean; When Jean nods off, Atom notices a group of Dryads that suddenly spring out of the flowers and fly away on petals. Atom follows after them and learns that they are under the control of a criminal called the Plant Master, who intends to use his mutated plants to try and take over the world; Trying to stop the Planet Master, the Atom is trapped in a Venus fly trap while the Planet Master leaves with the Dryads to initiate his plan. 36 pgs., full color. "The Up and Down Dooms of the Atom," script by Gardner Fox, pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Sid Greene; At the Ivy Town Science fair, Jean Loring is helping Ray Palmer demonstrate a new device that will enable people to "energize" the metal of their cars, making it more durable; However, a freak earthquake causes the beam of the device to strike Ray, putting him in paralysis state; Rushed to the hospital, Ray is left alone with Jean while the doctors try to understand the effect the beam had on Ray's body; Immobile, but still conscious, Ray realizes the only way to cure himself is to shrink down to microscopic size; Coincidentally, the ray has given Ray temporary telepathic powers, and he manages to command Jean to activate his invisible size control device. "Amazing Arsenal of the Atom-Assassin!", script by Gardner Fox, pencils by Gil Kane, inks by Sid Greene; Ray Palmer goes to pay a visit to Bertram Larvan at the Ivy Town prison, where he learns that Larvan still is suffering from the effects of his memory loss gas and has become a model prisoner; When visiting Larvan with the warden, Ray sees that Bertrand is still building robot insects that may have future use in the outside world; However, when showing off a mechanical bumblebee, Bertram accidentally makes the mechanical bee crash into his forehead; This blow to the head causes Bertram's memory to return, remembering his career as the Bug-Eyed Bandit, and his knowledge of Ray Palmer's secret identity as the Atom; Not letting onto this fact, Bertram returns to his cell and uses his remote control to activate on of the remaining insect robots in his lab in order to get revenge against the Atom and break out of jail. Al, however is in for the shock of his life when she answers the door and he finds that she has suddenly rapidly aged; The same thing has happened to Betty as well; Taking everyone to Calvin College to investigate, Al goes inside and hears the sound of crooks trying to blast open an wall safe with ray guns; Changing into the Atom, Al springs into action.
