Back when a new #1 issue wasn't something that happened every Wednesday, the relaunch of Marvel's flagship Amazing Spider-Man brought a ton of excitement- and mystery! One of those mysteries was how Mac Gargan, the original Scorpion, had returned in a souped-up suit with a bio-scanner that could track down Spidey. In this first page from the issue's backup story, Kayanan and Palmiotti deliver a dizzying detailed rendition of the procedure Gargan undertook to be placed in his new cybernetic suit.
