A great page from this gothic story that finds Christine Palmer, The Night Nurse, approaching a remote mansion in the middle of a rainstorm. Here we get a short recap of Palmer's somewhat tragic history that's led her to accept this mysterious job. Absolutely beautiful work by Mortimer here, especially in the inking on the closeup of Christine in panel three. Pencil and ink on comic art board. 10 1/2" x 16". NOTE: Panels two and three and a portion of panel six have been affixed to the rest of the board with tape and glue on the reverse, likely due to heavy revisions after the initial page was completed.
