If there's one word that can be used to describe Liefeld's art, it's power and that power is clearly evident in his fantastic pencil prelim for this cover. This issue sees the winged hero forced into gladiatorial combat and rather than taking the obvious route of showing Hawkman in the arena, he chooses a close shot emphasizing the Savage nature of the character with the added touch of his opponent's reflection in his helmet. Signed by the artist. Pencil over printed roughs on paper. 8 1/2" x 11".
