When a mutant dies, someone must investigate in order to uphold the Krakoan rules of reincarnation. Northstar, Polaris, Prodigy, Eye-Boy, Daken and Prestige take the case as X-Factor - your new favorite mutant team! The Master of Magnetism and the King of Atlantis make for a powerful duo as Magneto heads underwater with Namor the Sub-Mariner! Make sure the world is at war when it comes out! But Deadpool soon finds it's easier starting a war than it is keeping the war under his control! Now, Loki has imprisoned 'Pool and is about to conquer Earth! Fortunately, Deadpool knows the art of war, right? (He does, that's sort of the point. He's teaching you about war in this series.) Will Deadpool's war destroy Earth - or make him a best-selling author? Softcover, 96 pages, full color. Cover price $12.99.

Written by Bill Everett, Carl Burgos and John Compton. Art by Bill Everett, Carl Burgos, Al Fagaly, Carl Pfeufer, Ed Hamilton and John Jordan. Cover by Alex Schomburg.
Celebrate 80 years of Marvel Comics, decade by decade - beginning with the first two superstars of the Flying Forties!
The original Human Torch and Namor the Sub-Mariner get along as well as fire and water, and several of Timely's greatest comics feature the twin titans clashing in fantastic feature-length fisticuffs! A rivalry for the ages is born when Namor, mistreated by the surface world, attacks New York - and the Torch stands in his way! As World War II rages, Namor decides to create peace by flooding the planet! Can the Torch and his young sidekick, Toro, bring Namor back to his senses? They'd better - because the Nazis are on the attack, and the Golden Age archrivals must put aside their differences aside and unite against a common foe!

The Defenders have stopped August Masters' plan to start WWIII, but at a very high price. Nighthawk apparently died in the blast that destroyed the complex, and Valkyrie was killed right after the Defenders escaped from the complex. So now the downtrodden heroes return to New York and mourn their friends. A while later the Defenders hold a memorial service for the departed Nighthawk and Valkyrie -- and many of their friends and teammates attend. However Hellcat does not. And while Patsy writes in her diary...she's visited by an apparition of Valkyrie! Is Brunnhilde possibly alive? To investigate the matter further, Dr. Strange and Daimon Hellstrom hold a séance -- which reveals the Asgardian villain behind Valkyrie's plight! Appearances by Captain America, Daredevil, Gargoyle, Hawkeye, Hulk, Luke Cage, Silver Surfer, Sub-Mariner, Thor, Vera Cantor, Karnilla, and the Enchantress. (Note: Nighthawk returns years later in the Nighthawk (1998) limited series.) 32 pages. Cover price $0.60.

The day of the Defenders has come!
Roy Thomas joined his Titans Three of the Incredible Hulk, the Sub-Mariner and the Silver Surfer together with Doctor Strange to create comics' greatest "non-team," the Defenders! They don't rely on bylaws and butlers like other teams. They join together in moments of utmost crisis to face inenemies! But when they encounter heroes of a more conventional stripe, it's war - the watershed hero vs. hero Avengers/Defenders War, no less!
The original Defenders are soon joined by Hawkeye and Valkyrie and face Dormammu, the Enchantress, Loki, the sorcerer Cyrus Black and the horror of the Nameless One in this historic Epic Collection!
