Indicia title is "WALT DISNEY'S UNCLE REMUS AND HIS TALES OF BRER RABBIT, No. 129." Version with ad on back cover. Cover by Paul Murry. Stories and art by Dick Moores, Chase Craig, Carl Buettner, Tom McKimson and Paul Murry. Four Color is the collective title for Dell's long, irregularly published series of one-shots. This issue features adaptations of the Uncle Remus stories that inspired Disney's animated film Song of the South. Brer Rabbit makes a bet that Brer Terrapin can beat Brer Bear in tug-o'-war. Brer Rabbit is caught in a trap while stealing peanuts from Brer Fox's peanut patch, and only his wits can get him out. When he fears losing his cleverness, Brer Rabbit visits a witch, Aunt Mammy-Bammy Big-Money. These stories appear a little dicey to modern sensibilities, which is why Disney later withdrew Song of the South from its film catalog. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
