There's often a bit of back and forth about what counts as a 'first appearance' with comics characters, but this one is pretty cut and dry. This scene, which appears at around the 7:30 mark, is the actual real-deal first appearance of Harley Quinn hitting the airwaves a full year before Batman Adventures #12 hit stands! Created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini and intended as a one-off character never to be seen again, her striking design and the performance by Arleen Sorkin (on whom the character was based!) made Harley a fan favorite who quickly became an icon in comics, tv, and film. One of the standout episodes of the series, 'Joker's Favor' follows an ordinary man who in a bout of road rage accidentally catches the attention of the Joker and ends up owing him a favor.
