To celebrate the success of its monthly STAR TREK series and the occasion of the show's 25th Anniversary, DC Comics presents a special 4-part mini-series starring the 23rd Century's greatest heroes - Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise! In STAR TREK: THE MODALA IMPERATIVE, the Enterprise travels to the planet Modala to investigate its peaceful manner of planetary government. A closer look, however, reveals a world under a disturbing totalitarian rule. Moreover, the Modalan government has been provided with weaponry of off-world manufacture - but how, and by whom? Captain Kirk and Ensign Chekov take it upon themselves to investigate...and the answers they uncover are both ugly...and terrifying. STAR TREK: THE MODALA IMPERATIVE continues 100 years later, in the STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION mini-series following these 4 issues (see Star Trek The Next Generation The Modala Imperative (1991) #1-4). Written by Michael Jan Friedman, with art by Pablo Marcos. Cover by Adam Hughes and Karl Story. New Format. Cover price $1.75.
