"In the Path of Solam!", script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by John Tartaglione; While aboard the Kree ship, Mar-Vell is in a holographic training session which is cranked up to a high level by Yon-Rogg, hoping that Mar-Vell will die during the experience; However, Mar-Vell succeeds in beating the computer; After, Mar-Vell is ordered back to Earth, where his identity is almost exposed by Carol Danvers when she spots the Kree ship returning to Earth's orbit and "Lawson's" sudden appearance in the middle of the road; Later, in his guise of Lawson, Mar-Vell meets with Dr. Norman Lundquist who is displaying his Solar Amplification Light-Cannon; Examining the device, Mar-Vell realizes that the device has the potential of creating a solar energy creature (which Mar-Vell dubs "Solam"); However, when Mar-Vell decides to try and destroy the device, Yon-Rogg strikes Mar-Vell through his wrist communicator; When the device creates a Solam creature, it goes on a rampage and gets strong as it absorbs more solar energy; Changing into Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell pools the resources of the world's most powerful computers together to come up with a solution as to how to destroy Solam. "And Fear Shall Follow!", script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by Vince Colletta; When a trading vessel piloted by members of the Aakon race, they detect a Kree vessel in proximity to the planet Earth; As age old enemies of the Kree, the Aakon decide to land on the dark side of the moon to avoid detection; However, their effort proves too late and Yon-Rogg orders his men to attack the Aakon, in spite of Mar-Vell's warnings that it wouldn't be a good idea; During the battle on the Moon, Yon-Rogg is injured in combat, and Mar-Vell is forced to kill the Aakon leader in order to save his superior, and both parties flee the scene of the battle; Mar-Vell assumes temporary control of the Kree vessel while Yon-Rogg is injured, however he soon returns to Earth; On Earth, Mar-Vell decides to investigate the home of the late Walter Lawson to turn up clues about the man's past, partially for Carol Danvers, and partially for his own curiosity. When he finds a secret lab where something big and humanoid is being constructed, Mar-Vell is attacked by members of the Organization, who had commissioned Lawson to build a robot to be their perfect assassin for them. 36 pgs., full color. However, before she can find anything of value, the repaired Cyberex appears and takes Carol hostage, taking her back to Lawson's lab; When Mar-Vell arrives as "Lawson" he learns about Carol's kidnap and goes after Cyberex and tracks the robot back to Lawson's lab; There Mar-Vell has his hands full when the Aakon attack party also arrives; However, when Mar-Vell realizes that the Cyberex is attracted to Lawson's scent on his note book, Mar-Vell writes a Kree code number on the cover of the book, and leaves it for the Aakon to get a hold of; When the Aakon think it's a coded Kree plan, they become targets of Cyberex who kills them to get a hold of the source of Lawson's scent; Mar-Vell then manages to destroy Cyberex once and for all with his Uni-Beam to smash open the robot's housing and break its repair mechanism. 36 pgs., full color. "When a Galaxy Beckons," script by Gary Friedrich, pencils by Frank Springer, inks by Vince Colletta; Held at gun point at the Cape for treason charges, Mar-Vel trys to figure out what to do while Carol tries to appear for Mar-Vell's release; While at the same time the Puppet Master--from his island hideout--uses one of his special puppets to take control of Iron Man, part of a plan to aid Egghead against the Avengers (See Avengers #64); Iron Man, in his civilian guise as Tony Stark is on his way to business in Miami, is controlled by the Puppet Master to change into Iron Man and leaves the plane to attack Mar-Vell; The Puppet Master manages to have Iron Man attack Mar-Vell, however the battle ends when unexpectedly when Stark's heart condition causes Stark to have a heart attack; A furious Puppet Master, not knowing why Iron Man no longer response to his command, throws his puppet at the controls causing an explosion that buries the Puppet Master under his machinery. 36 pgs., full color. While on Earth, Carol Danvers awakens in a hospital and flees FBI agents come to question her about Walter Lawson The Supreme Sentry then transports Mar-Vell to the planet Hala and brings him before the Supreme Intelligence; The Surpeme Intelligence tells Mar-Vell that he was being manipulated, and that Zo was really Zarek who was working with the Ronan the Accuser to try use Mar-Vell as a tool to overthrow the Kree empire and take over for themselves; When Zarek tries to kill the Supreme Intelligence with a Negatron Sphere, Mar-Vell shields the blast with his body and miraculously survives. 36 pgs., full color.
