Warren Tufts' lushly illustrated Western strip Casey Ruggles makes its Sparkler Comics debut. Casey is surprised by a mysterious stranger while guarding the mayor of Pueblo Los Angeles. In Captain and the Kids, the Captain becomes a volunteer firefighter, so the Kids sabotage all his gear, and then wait gleefully for the fire alarm.
