In the main story, hot-rodder Clint Curtis earns his way into the local racing circuit by building his own hot rod. Every issue has illustrated mechanical and racing-culture features. This issue includes diagrams of engine pistons and lubrication points on a car; pinup-style drawings of the three top racing cars in the US, circa 1951; and a color photograph of the Flying Torpedo, a hot rod made out of a P-38 fighter aircraft.
