The jewelers had delivered it to Queen Maria Antoinette. But she said she had sent it back, and she showed a receipt for the jewelers. The jewelers said they had never received the necklace. They produced a letter for the Queen accepting the necklace and promising payment. Who had stolen Maria Antoinette's necklace? Cover price $0.15.
