Art by Henry Vallely. The first-ever appearance of the Lone Ranger in comic books, originally sold as a mail-in offer for an ice cream company (which is why the masked hero carries an ice-cream cone). Adapted not from the comic strip, but from the Big Little Book Lone Ranger and His Horse Silver, also illustrated by Henry Vallely. The BLB illustrations form a sort of comic-strip version of the story. The masked hero of the West battles outlaws with help from his sidekick Tonto and faithful horse Silver, never even waiting for anyone to thank him. This is believed to be the first Western comic book devoted to a single character. Back cover features an ad for Lone Ranger Picture Rings. 32 pages, B&W.
