by MASAMUNE SHIROW; translation by Frederik L. Schodt March 6, 2035 ? four and half years since cyber-cop Matoko Kusanagi joined with an artifical intelligence and quit the 9th Police Squad. Now, a hyper-advanced cyborg called Motoko Aramaki ? a fusion of multiple entities and identities ? heads the investigative department of the giant multi-national, Poseidon Industrial, deploying remotely controlled humanoid surrogates around the globe as on-the-ground agents. When a herd of specially-bred pigs used to clone human organs for transplant are slaughtered, Motoko dispatches herself through cyberspace and utilizing surrogate cyborgs at far-flung locales to do the heavy lifting, Matoko hunts down the attackers, battling online and on the ground, but there may be more to the mystery than meets the eye...even the all-seeing eye of artificial intelligence. No work of graphic fiction you've ever experienced can prepare you for the mind-warping journey that is Man-Machine Interface. ? Special deluxe format with no interior advertising! MASAMUNE SHIROW On sale April 2, FC, 32pg (no ads), $3.50 Cyber-agent Motoko Aramaki remains hot on the trail of the shadowy terrorists making life hell for Poseidon Industrial. Motoko deploys a cyborg surrogate, Chroma, for on-the- ground operations to pick up needed information, but while waiting for an e-brain private eye to pony up the data, Chroma is jacked into a no-holds-barred virtual combat game? at least she hopes it's virtual! The synapse-frying followup to the manga/anime heavyweight champion, Ghost in the Shell, Masamune Shirow's Man-Machine Interface crushes to powder any previous notions of what is or is not a comic book with its dizzying storyline and cutting-edge, digitally enhanced visuals, unlike anything comics have ever offered. Special deluxe format with no interior advertising! FOR MATURE READERS Cover price $3.50.

MASAMUNE SHIROW On sale May 21, FC/b&w, 32pg (no ads) (6 of 11), $3.50 Chroma, one of super-cyber agent Motoko Aramaki's cyborg surrogate operatives, has a little problem. She's not sure whether she's in the real world or inside a game...but either way, there are plenty of well-armed weirdoes going all-out to turn Chroma into a grease- spot, virtual and/or literal. And real or not, their goal is to find a way to get to Motoko, and she may have unwittingly provided them with the means to track her down...and rub her out! The brain-twisting followup to the manga/anime classic Ghost in the Shell, Masamune Shirow's Man-Machine Interface redefines the limits of "comic book" to create an immersing visual landscape unlike anything seen before in graphic fiction. ?
