    Karl Rossmann, a sixteen year old European immigrant, after an embarrassing sexual misadventure, finds himself forced to venture to America, where he lands in New York City. It isn't long before this young man finds himself swept up in a whirlwind of sobering setbacks, bizarre adventures, and mischievous undertakings.

    Amerika was Franz Kafkas incomplete first novel, written between 1911 and 1914 and published posthumously in 1927. It grew out of a short storyhe was crafting titled The Stoker.
