Volume 3 - 1st printing. "Escape To Hoth!" Collects Classic Star Wars (1992) #15-20. Written by Archie Goodwin. Art by Al Williamson. After the initial euphoria of the Rebel Alliance's first major success-the destruction of the dreaded Imperial battle station known as the Death Star - the Empire began to rally. This is the story of how Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and the droids graduated from the triumphal reception at the conclusion of Star Wars: A New Hope to their new lives as hard-bitten guerrillas fighting against the tyrannies of a still-dangerous Empire in The Empire Strikes Back! Comic book industry giants Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson produced a popular series of Star Wars newspaper strips between 1981 and 1984, set between Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Dark Horse reformatted and colored these strips to make them work as a continuous story in a series of comic books, with Al Williamson himself redrawing and extending many panels for the new format. The third volume of the popular Dark Horse series, collecting issues #15 through #20 of the reprint series, also includes a special foreword by legendary Star Wars artist Al Williamson.
