Across the five star systems, known as the "Joker Systems," kingdoms dot the heavens like stars. Knights, known as "Headliners," control giant robots called Mortar Heads to protect the sanctity of each kingdom. Bound to the knights are the fatimas, fabricated humanoids who possess expanded mental abilities that make it possible for Headliners to control their robotic armor. One of the Galaxy's most prestigious fatima meights, Dr. Chrome Ballanche, completes the work on his final two masterpieces, Lachesis and Clotho, only to have to take them into custody by the local lord! He is a depraved upstart merchant by the name of Grand Duke Juba Bardiam, and he covets the two fatimas to satisfy his outlandish lecheries. Ballanche has no one to turn to for help, but his longtime friend Ladios Sopp to save his two daughters from Juba's slimy clutches.
