Volume 4 - 1st printing. "April, 1958" Collects Blondie Comics, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Sad Sack, and ten more Harvey titles, all from April, 1958. These volumes are some of the earliest examples of Collected Comics. Companies, like Harvey, would archive their material by taking all the issues they released that month and having them bound into hardcover book format. The issues come complete with front and back covers and interiors. They were trimmed down perfectly to fit the hardcover format. These are extremely rare items. As the comic expands to 64 pages of material, new mischievous brats are introduced alongside Lil Genius and Li'l Tomboy, aka the Li'l Rascal Twins; Li'l Lumberjack, Li'l Farmboy, and Eddie Extra all cause their share of comic chaos. Ollie gets all his friends in on buying cereal boxes to win a horse in a contest. Ollie's plan to get even with a bully involves his Uncle John, a visiting circus strongman. In a very strange story, newsboy Eddie Extra stops a mobile counterfeiting ring, dodges a high-speed car chase, and witnesses a bank job, but his editor doesn't think it's exciting enough for the front page. Plus a note from Alfred Fago, the Executive Editor of Charlton, attesting to the "good taste" and so forth of Code-approved comics. Also featuring a vintage ad for a "Jet Rocket Space Ship."
