Volume 47 - 1st printing. "Viking Longship!" Written by Keith Durham. Art by Steve Noon. Viking longships evolved from one-man canoes of the Scandinavian Stone Age, through wood-built-ships of c. 200 BC into the recognisable longboats of the 4th century AD. From this point, the Viking Longship developed into the pre-eminent raider and trader in the North Sea and Baltic, venturing as far afield as the Mediterranean, North Atlantic and modern-day Russia. Keith Durham uses reconstructions, original sources, translations and archaeological evidence to render a vivid picture of the vessels that dominated the seaways of Scandinavia, founded colonies on Iceland, Greenland and the New World and terrorised the coastlines of northern Europe. Also covered are Norman vessels, including the invasion fleet of William the Conqueror. Softcover, 48 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $17.95.

Never before has a single volume been devoted exclusively to the intrepid and disparate band of pilots who could claim to be Gladiator aces. Flying the ultimate British biplane fighter, pilots in China, Finland, East Africa, North Africa, Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Norway and the Middle East all scored the prerequisite five kills to become aces. The first individuals to do so were fighting marauding Japanese fighters and bombers attacking targets in China in 1938. The likes of Sheen, Tuck and Carey will also be featured in this volume, as they were among the many early war acers who cut their teeth in Fighter Command on the Gladiator. Volume 46 - 1st printing. "Austro-Hungarian Aces of World War 1!" Written by Chris Chant. Art by Mark Rolfe. Starting the war with only 35 aircraft, Austro-Hungarian industry went on to produce only moderate numbers of poor quality aircraft. The fliers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire operating on the Serbian and Russian fronts were fortunate at first, finding themselves faced by small numbers of aircraft yet more obsolescent than their own. Serbia fell in 1915, but when Italy declared war the Austro-Hungarians were still faced with a two-front war – a static front against Italy, and a far more fluid one against Russia. Austro-Hungarian fighter pilots performed bravely and often very effectively under extremely difficult geographic, climatic and operational conditions. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $22.95.

Volume 95 - 1st printing. "Second Manassas 1862!" Written by John Langellier. Art by Mike Adams. There never was such a campaign, not even by Napoleon wrote Confederate General Pender of the Second Manassas campaign in which the gray-bearded Virginian, Robert E Lee, came as close as he ever would to exterminating his Northern enemies. In so doing, Lee established himself as the South's pre-eminent military commander and the Army of Northern Virginia as it's most powerful weapon. The fighting in northern Virginia left Union General John Pope's career in tatters and proved the South was a power to be reckoned with. This book's powerful account demonstrates that during that fateful summer of 1862 Lee's soldiers were fighting for anything but a lost cause. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $19.95.

Volume 99 - 1st printing. " Fuentes de Oñoro 1811!" Written by René Chartrand. Art by Patrice Courcelle. In October 1810 the Allied position in Portugal appeared precarious. Despite defeating Marshal Masséna's French army at Bussaco, Wellington had been forced to retreat to within a few miles of Lisbon. Here the French encountered a massive line of fortifications stretching from the River Tagus to the sea. Built amid great secrecy and on Wellington's specific orders, these Lines of Torres Vedras were the French high-water mark. In February, with his army on the point of starvation, Masséna was forced to retreat and the scene was set for the climactic action of Fuentes de Oñoro. This book examines this crucial campaign culminating in the hard-fought battle that finally drove the French from Portugal. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $19.95.

Volume 78 - 1st printing. "World War I Trench Warfare Part 1!" Written by Stephen Bull. Art by Adam Hook. The regular armies which marched off to war in 1914 were composed of massed riflemen, screened by cavalry and supported by artillery; their leaders expected a quick and decisive outcome, achieved by sweeping manoeuvre, bold leadership and skill at arms. Eighteen months later the whole nature of field armies and their tactics had changed utterly. In sophisticated trench systems forming a battlefield a few miles wide and 400 miles long, conscript armies sheltered from massive long-range bombardment, wielding new weapons according to new tactical doctrines. This first of two richly illustrated studies explains in detail the specifics of that extraordinary transformation, complete with ten full colour plates of uniforms and equipment. Softcover, 64 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.95.

Volume 15 - 1st printing. "The Falklands War 1982!" By Duncan Anderson. The Argentine invasion of the Falklands in 1982 sparked national outrage and Britain felt she had to avenge the humiliation and protect her own. This volume explores both the military and political dimensions of this important conflict, including detailed accounts of the air / sea battle, the Battle for San Carlos Water, Goose Green, Mt Harriet, Tumbledown and many others. It explains how success in the Falklands set the stage for the years of Thatcher's dominance, and restored British prestige. Volume 16 - 1st printing. "The Punic Wars 264-146 BC!" By Nigel Bagnall. The three Punic Wars lasted over 100 years, between 264 BC and 146 BC. They represented a struggle for supremacy in the Mediterranean between the bludgeoning land power of Rome, bent on imperial conquest, and the great maritime power of Carthage with its colonies and trading posts spread around the Mediterranean. This book reveals how the dramas and tragedies of the Punic Wars exemplify many political and military lessons which are as relevant today as when Hannibal and Scipio Africanus fought to determine the course of history in the Mediterranean. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $17.95.

It was used extensively during the Armada Campaign, the English Civil War, The Restoration and the Glorious Revolution. The musketeer's experience in battle, skirmish, siege and camp saw both change and continuity during this period. The common experiences of the musketeer (including digging trenches, firing and fighting, and life on campaign) are explored in this title. Softcover, 64 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.95.

Gallery Books Edition - 1st printing.

    By Stephen King.

When the Creeds escape a smog-choked Chicago and move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true. But in the backwoods of the quiet community of Ludlow, a pet burial ground harbors a blood-chilling truth more terrifying than death itself, and hideously more powerful!

First published in 1983, Pet Sematary has since been regarded as one of Stephen King's most frightening and controversial novels. A multilayered examination into the nature of untimely death, shattering loss, and utter desperation, Pet Sematary tears asunder the very fabric connecting our seemingly normal world and the afterlife, leaving readers with an awful truth too haunting to ever forget!

This new trade edition includes a fascinating introduction by the author himself that reveals the inspiration and process behind the novel many of King's most ardent fans deem his best.

Volume 1 - 1st printing. "Old Gods!" Collects Planet of the Apes (2001) #1-3. Written by Ian Edginton. Art by Adrian Sibar, Paco Medina, Norman Lee, and Juan Vlasco. Anything that could have possibly gone wrong since The Human War did. The human rebel Esau and the ape leader Seneca are facing a trial for crimes against the ape state. Once triumphant, they now await a hangman's noose. Never in their wildest dreams did they think they would be rescued mere seconds from certain death by the once great gorilla warrior, Attar! But Attar has an ulterior motive. Usually reclusive, he has received a cryptic message that could finally lead him to his friend, the long-disappeared chimp, Ari. Soon hunted by the implacable Commander Kharim, Esau, Seneca, and Attar head deep into the uncharted wilds where they find a besieged outpost of apes and humans, masters and servants, fighting side by side in a battle with a primal, ancient evil...one that reveals the dark side to the origins of ape and human alike! Collects the first three issues of the ongoing series. Softcover, 80 pages, full color. Cover price $9.95.

Volume 43 - 1st printing. "Blood and Tears!"

Story and art By Hal Foster.

The greatest adventure epic since Beowulf continues in this full-color series. Hal Foster's Prince Valiant, with its thrilling continuities of a noble knight in the days of King Arthur, began in newspapers in 1937 and continues to this day. Fantagraphics' deluxe, full-color library editions of Prince Valiant were initially intended to end with 2000's Volume 40, the final volume in which Foster was the chief architect of the strip's visual look. Due to overwhelming public demand, however, we are continuing the series, reprinting strips written and roughed-out by Foster and finished by Foster's prodigious assistant, John Cullen Murphy. Murphy, who had been quietly assisting Foster for several years, actively took over the bulk of the drawing chores in 1971 and immediately developed a fan following himself (although, for the most part, your average newspaper reader couldn't discern a difference between Foster and Cullen Murphy's styles). Each volume of Prince Valiant features close to year's worth of full-page Sunday strips.

    Softcover, 9-in. x 13-in., 48 pages, full color.

    Cover price $16.95.
