2nd Edition - Volume 3 - 1st printing. Story and art by Hitoshi Okuda. The trouble began when teenage Tenchi inadvertently released the marooned space pirate Ryoko from his grandfather's shrine. Now Ryoko and a gaggle of equally attractive and temperamental alien women are all competing for Tenchi's affections - and more. How much love does one poor Earth boy have to give? In a heartwarming take on the ancient tale of Daniel removing the thorn from the lion's paw, soft-hearted Sasami comes to the aid of a savage wolf. Then, in a tragic-comic story, jealousies flare when Tenchi's cute childhood girlfriend puts Ryoko and Ayeka through their paces to see who is more worthy of his affections. The emotional rollercoaster continues with an alternate-reality storyline in which little Sasami transforms into a superheroine who fights for truth, justice, and the Japanese way! Volume 150 - 1st printing. "Khe Sanh 1967-68!" Written by Gordon L Rottman. Art by Peter Dennis. Khe Sanh was a small village in northwest South Vietnam that sat astride key North Vietnamese infiltration routes. In September 1966 a Marine battalion deployed into the area. Action gradually increased as the NVA attempted to destroy Free World Forces bases, and the siege of Khe Sanh proper began in October 1967. The bitter fight lasted into July 1968 when, with the changing strategic and tactical situation, the base was finally closed. This book details the siege and explains how, although the NVA successfully overran a Special Forces camp nearby, it was unable to drive US forces from Khe Sanh. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $19.95.

Volume 151 - 1st printing. "Vimy Ridge 1917!" Written by Alexander Turner. Art by Peter Dennis. Vimy Ridge was one of the most important geographic features on the entire Western Front in World War I. In early 1917 it was considered practically impregnable, but on 9 April the Canadian Army Corps, under the command of the British Lieutenant General Sir Julian Byng, assaulted it as part of the Arras offensive. In one of the most spectacular operational attacks of the war, they seized almost the entire ridge in a single day. This book describes how the innovative efforts that went into every aspect of the preparation for this attack ensured that the Canadian and British troops achieved unprecedented success. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $19.95.

Volume 152 - 1st printing. "Kasserine Pass 1943!" Written by Steven J Zaloga. Art by Michael Welply. The North African campaign of November 1942-May 1943 was a baptism of fire for the US Army. After relatively straightforward landings, the US II Corps advanced into Tunisia to support operations by the British 8th Army. Rommel, worried by the prospect of an attack, decided to exploit the inexperience of the US Army and strike a blow against their overextended positions around the Kasserine Pass. However, the Germans were unable to exploit their initial success, and later attacks were bloodily repulsed. The fighting in Tunisia taught the green US Army vital combat lessons, and brought to the fore senior commanders such as Eisenhower, Patton, and Bradley. Softcover, 96 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $19.95.

Volume 55 - 1st printing. " USAF F-4 Phantom II MiG Killers 1972-73!" Written by Peter Davies. Art by Jim Laurier. The F-4 Phantom II was the USAF workhorse fighter-bomber for the Linebacker campaign, which eventually saw US forces withdraw from Vietnam 'with honour' in 1973. This book covers the F-4 attacks on numerous targets in North Vietnamese cities such as Hanoi and Haiphong, as well as its engagements with Vietnamese MiG-19s and MiG-21s hell-bent on defending the north from 'Yankee air pirates'. The USAF's only ace crew, which scored their five kills during 1972, is also covered in a book containing many detailed photographs, a large proportion of which haven't been published before. Softcover, 98 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $22.95.

  • Issue #57-1ST
Osprey Combat Aircraft Series SC (1997-2011 OSPREY) 57-1ST

Volume 57 - 1st printing. " AH-64 Apache Units of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom!" Written by Jonathan Bernstein. Art by Jim Laurier. After the attacks on 11 September 2001, Apache units made significant contributions to the Coalition campaign against Taliban and al-Qaeda forces in Afghanistan. Functioning as the 'killer' part of US Army Hunter-killer teams, Apaches sought out and brought overwhelming firepower to bear on Taliban and al-Qaeda forces, as well as providing direct support to Coalition troops on the ground. Apaches spearheaded the advance of the 3rd Infantry and the 101st airborne divisions into Iraq, engaging in some of the heaviest fighting along the western axis of advance. Weather and enemy fire took a heavy toll on Apaches operating in Western Iraq, but the resilience and flexibility of the Apache was central to the success of this campaign. Softcover, 98 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $22.95.

  • Issue #123-1ST

This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

Volume 123 - 1st printing. "Knight's Cross and Oak-Leaves Recipients 1941-45!" Written by Gordon Williamson. Art by Ramiro Bujeiro. The remarkable early successes of the armed forces of the Third Reich prompted the decision that the supreme decoration for personal valour or outstanding leadership - the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross - was insufficient. To mark further acts of gallantry a new distinction was created in June 1940: the Oak-Leaves clasp. Further decorations in the form of the Swords and, finally, the Diamonds were added. This second title in our series describes and illustrates a selection of recipients of the Knight's Cross and Oak-Leaves between 1941 and early 1944, when the Wehrmacht was engaged on all fronts, as well as at sea and in the air. Softcover, 64 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.95.

Volume 30 - 1st printing. "Fort Eben Emael!" Written by Simon Dunstan. Art by Hugh Johnson. At the outbreak of World War II, Fort Eben Emael in Belgium was the strongest fortress in the world, and it lay exactly across the German invasion route of Belgium and France. The fort's elimination was essential for the success of Hitler's invasion of the West. Deemed impregnable to conventional attack, Hitler himself suggested the means for its capture with the first glider-borne assault in military history. On 10 May 1940, ten gliders carrying just 77 paratroopers landed on top of the fort. Using top-secret hollow-charge weapons for the first time in warfare, the assault pioneers of Sturmgruppe Granit subdued Fort Eben Emael within just 30 minutes, and the fortress surrendered within 30 hours. It remains one of the greatest raids in the annals of Special Forces. Softcover, 64 pages, PC/PB&W Cover price $18.95.

Volume 418 - 1st printing. "American Indians of the Pacific Northwest!" Written by Elizabeth Von Aderkas. Art by Christa Hook. The Indian tribes of the Pacific Northwest, both on the Coast and the inland Plateau, were the last to encounter white traders and settlers. When contact occured in the late 18th century the explorers and traders found two distinct cultures. The fairly recent adoption of the horse had opened the Plateau tribes to influences from the peoples of the Plains; but the tribes of the Coast presented a sharply different picture, involving rigid class hierarchies, an economy based on fishing and hunting marine animals, and frequent intertribal warfare which involved slave raiding and head hunting. This fascinating text describes the ways of life, in peace and war, of the coastal and inland peoples of this region. Softcover, PC/PB&W.

Volume 423 - 1st printing. "The Confederate Army 1861–65 (1)!" Written by Ron Field. Art by Richard Hook. The common image of the Confederate Army during the Civil War is dominated by a limited number of early photographs of soldiers wearing the gray and butternut associated with the CS regulations and quartermaster issues. This sequence of books examines a much wider field: the original uniforms of the state militia and volunteer companies which were brought together to form the Confederate armies, and the continuing efforts by individual states to clothe their troops as wear-and-tear reduced the originally wide range of uniforms. A mass of information from state papers and other contemporary documents is illustrated with rare photographs and meticulous color reconstructions. Softcover, PC/PB&W.

Volume 97- 1st printing. "French Warship Crews 1789-1805!" Written by Terry Crowdy. Art by Steve Noon. This book gives a detailed and authentic account of the life and experiences of French warship crews from the Revolution up to Trafalgar. It describes the recruitment and composition of crews, the different duties performed and the living conditions they had to endure at sea. Their experiences of fighting the British are covered in depth; from preparing the ship for action, to the violent discharges of heavy calibre guns, the often gruesome realities of sea warfare are revealed through pictures and contemporary testimonies. Softcover, 64 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $18.95.

Better act fast, kids...'cause the Snarks are coming! 32 PGS./All Ages ...$2.25 REVIEW BY ARRON SETTLE: The first Power Pack mini-series this year was a lot of fun. I was excited to hear that they had a second mini-series in the works and this time the Power family has brought some friends along. X-Men/Power Pack team up the super-powered kids with the popular mutants in this four issue mini-series. Just like the first series, every issue with have a self contained story that focuses on a different member of the Power Family. The first issue finds the family going to a Halloween carnival. Jack dresses up as Wolverine in hopes of winning the costume contest, but finds himself with bigger problems as he runs into the real Wolverine who just happens to be tracking Sabertooth through the near by woods. I really dug the scenes between Wolverine and Katie Power, they brought back memories of some of my favorite X-Men issues from the 1980's. Like the first mini-series, this book is light hearted fun for fans of all ages. Cover price $2.99.
