Frontier scout Young Eagle and his trained eagle Clawfoot aid the US Cavalry at Fort Wayne. Young Eagle takes a break from aiding the US Cavalry in fighting cattle rustlers and returns to his tribal lands. There, he finds the tribe under threat from marauding "sky spirits," and the corrupt shaman Wolf Tail trying to turn the tribe against the chieftain. But Young Eagle must venture to Thunder Canyon to prove the sky spirits are fake, in an issue-length story.
