Eh! (1953) 5

  • Issue #5
    Eh! (1953) 5
    • .5" Cumulative spine split.

Cover by Fred Ottenheimer. Stories and art by Dick Ayers and others. Eh! was Charlton's attempt at a one-word-title humor and satire comic, inspired by the success of EC's Mad. "Cliff Headfirst" of the "That Was Your Life" TV show seeks a subject for his next episode, but finds an escaped convict instead. In a truly bonkers story, an ad exec makes a fortune selling dirt by calling it "Dirth." Eh! parodies the "Miss Rheingold" beer ads, just as Mad did. Spoofs of 1950s advertising, including sports cars, how-to books, and 'Ways to Beat the Draft!" (!) That Was Your Life; Dirth Does Anything!; Little Willies; Eh's Song Page!; Success 1954 Style; Miss Rhineghoul of 1954!; Mary Had a Little Lamb!; Inspector Moe Ron; Look, Ma ... I'm Dancin'; The NG. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
