The Pride and the Passion. Variant 15¢ Edition. Cover photos of Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant. Story by Paul S. Newman. Art by André LeBlanc. Four Color is the collective title for Dell's long, irregularly published series of one-shots. This issue is an adaptation of the 1957 Allied Artists film The Pride and the Passion, which was based on the 1933 novel "The Gun" by C.S. Forester. A British Royal Navy officer gets caught up in the conflict between Spain and France when he is assigned to retrieve a siege cannon from Spain. The transport of the enormous cannon across a thousand miles of Spanish frontier is complicated by the ongoing skirmishes with France, as well as the love of Juana. Plus a look at the weaponry and uniforms of the period. The Pride and the Passion; Artillery; Uniforms. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.15.
